On the afternoon of November 14, a symposium titled "Carrying Forward Zhang Zhibai's Entrepreneurial Spirit and Promoting High-Quality Development of the Integrated Circuit Industry" was held by the shores of Zilang Lake. The event was organized by Tongfu Microelectronics under the guidance of the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and Zhang Zhibai Entrepreneur College. Huang Weidong, Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC, attended the gathering, while Shen Lei, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department, delivered a speech.

　　Shen Lei pointed out that the real economy is the foundation upon which a city stands and thrives. In recent years, Nantong has consistently focused on bolstering its economic growth by prioritizing the development of the real economy, accelerating efforts to build a manufacturing powerhouse. As a result, the city has cultivated six major industrial clusters—each worth over 100 billion yuan—in areas such as next-generation information technology, shipbuilding and offshore engineering, high-end textiles, advanced equipment, new materials, and new energy. Among these, integrated circuits have emerged as a key pillar of Nantong’s next-generation IT industry. The city has established a robust industrial chain centered around packaging and testing, with complementary segments including chip design, semiconductor device manufacturing, equipment and material production, and technical services. In the first three quarters of this year, the sector achieved taxable sales of 24.71 billion yuan, representing a remarkable 14.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Tongfu Microelectronics, as the city’s leading enterprise in the integrated circuit industry, has dedicated 25 years to excelling in the packaging and testing field. Over the years, it has successfully developed more than 20 groundbreaking technologies that have broken foreign monopolies and filled critical domestic gaps. The company was even honored with the nation’s top prize for scientific and technological progress. Moreover, Tongfu Microelectronics has spearheaded the establishment of the Zilang Semiconductor Industry Collaborative Innovation Consortium and actively participated in the joint construction of an integrated circuit testing industrial park. Thanks to these initiatives, the company has attracted a growing number of upstream and downstream projects to settle and thrive in Nantong, making significant contributions to the city’s overall IC industry development. Shen Lei emphasized that driving the high-quality growth of the integrated circuit industry is a vital strategy for Nantong to unlock its potential and reach the next trillion-yuan milestone. He added that the city is committed to thoroughly implementing the key directives from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China regarding the building of a modern industrial system. Nantong is determined to strengthen its "Wanshi Haotong" business brand—known for its professionalism, comprehensive support systems, well-rounded resource guarantees, and exceptional service environment—thus providing robust backing for the IC industry to scale up and excel. Finally, Shen Lei extended a heartfelt appeal to all experts, urging them to continue showing their unwavering support for Nantong by sharing valuable insights, offering strategic advice, and helping the city seize new opportunities.
