On the morning of December 6, Wudao students visited the headquarters of Nantong Tongfu Microelectronics firsthand. Through activities such as touring the exhibition hall, attending themed lectures, and engaging in interactive Q&A sessions, they gained a profound understanding of Tongfu Microelectronics' dedicated pursuit of technological innovation and its pioneering role in competing on the global stage to contribute to the nation's industrial development. Stone Mingda, Chairman of Tongfu Microelectronics and a Wudao mentor, delivered a keynote speech titled "A Brief Analysis of How Chinese Technology Innovation Enterprises Can Break Through Industry Barriers." He reflected on the company's more than two decades of growth, offered insightful perspectives on future industry trends and the broader economic landscape, and inspired the attendees with valuable insights for their own journeys.

Shi Mingda first meticulously outlined the company’s development journey chronologically. During the previous decade, Tongfu Microelectronics leveraged its joint venture partnership with Japan’s Fujitsu to absorb cutting-edge technologies and management expertise, thereby paving the way for its global expansion. This phase was further bolstered by the company’s successful IPO in 2007, which provided crucial financial support for sustained growth. In the following decade, with robust backing from national policies—particularly initiatives like the state-sponsored "02" Project and the National Integrated Circuit Industry Fund—Tongfu Microelectronics successfully achieved a transformative upgrade in its product technologies and manufacturing capabilities. The establishment of a joint venture with AMD in 2016 marked a pivotal moment, ushering the company into a new era of accelerated, breakthrough-level development. Today, whether measured by technological prowess or corporate scale, Tongfu Microelectronics has firmly positioned itself as a contender capable of challenging world-class enterprises.

From Nantong Transistor Factory to Huada Microelectronics, and from Nantong Fujitsu to Tongfu Microelectronics—though the company names have changed repeatedly, Tongfu Microelectronics has never wavered in its original aspiration to revitalize and advance China's semiconductor industry. Shi Mingda remarked with emotion: "We have always remained focused on our core business, continuously accelerating the pace of technological innovation, determined to build this industry into something bigger, stronger, and more competitive. Ultimately, our goal is to take the lead in breaking through industry barriers in the integrated circuit packaging and testing sector—a clear embodiment of our heartfelt commitment to serving the nation through technology."

Shi Mingda pointed out that when it comes to strengthening industries for the nation and breaking through industry barriers, three key points must be emphasized: First, innovation—innovative progress lies in the everyday actions of every employee. Second, long-term and stable investment; Tongfu Microelectronics has already invested over 2 billion yuan cumulatively, relentlessly striving to break foreign monopolies and blockades while building a domestically independent and controllable integrated circuit industry chain. Finally, focus—that is, staying resilient amid solitude, resisting temptations, sticking firmly to our core business, and deeply investing in research and development.

He stated that, as a new wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation surges forward, the "new Suzhou entrepreneurs" must not only dare to experiment and learn from mistakes, but also remain steadfast in their commitment to the nation and take the lead in achieving success. At the conclusion of the course, Shi Mingda expressed his heartfelt hopes to the attendees from the Wudao program: "Just as the waves of the Yangtze River push forward those that came before, each generation grows stronger than the last. I believe the next generation of Suzhou entrepreneurs will surely surpass us and achieve even greater accomplishments. I sincerely wish you all the very best!"
