Tongfu Microelectronics and Infineon have signed a strategic cooperation agreement on intelligent manufacturing, boosting the smart transformation and upgrading of China's semiconductor industry.

On May 18, Tongfu Microelectronics signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Infineon Technologies AG (hereinafter referred to as "Infineon"), under which they will leverage Infineon's expertise and experience in Germany's Industry 4.0 initiative to help enhance Tongfu Microelectronics' manufacturing capabilities and productivity.

On May 18, Tongfu Microelectronics signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Infineon Technologies AG (hereinafter referred to as "Infineon"), aiming to enhance Tongfu Microelectronics' manufacturing capabilities and productivity by sharing Germany's Industry 4.0 expertise and knowledge. This project marks the first collaboration between Chinese and German enterprises in the field of intelligent semiconductor manufacturing, serving as an excellent model for future deepened partnerships between Chinese and German companies and jointly advancing China's "Made in China 2025" strategy.

According to the cooperation agreement, Infineon will provide consulting support to Tongfu Microelectronics, assessing the company’s current manufacturing performance in areas such as equipment productivity, production cycle time, on-time delivery, and quality—and proposing tailored solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities. The collaboration between the two companies will unfold in phases: In the first phase, Infineon will offer advisory recommendations on Tongfu Microelectronics’ “Tongfu Microelectronics Smart Manufacturing White Paper,” helping the company plan and design a smart manufacturing solution that aligns with its unique production environment. In the second phase, Infineon will deliver expert consulting support for the practical implementation of the smart manufacturing plan outlined in the white paper. Additionally, Infineon will arrange visits for Tongfu Microelectronics personnel to its Wuxi factory upon request. As part of this strategic partnership, Infineon will also assist Tongfu Microelectronics in establishing an Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing demonstration production line—dubbed “Infineon-Transferred Industry 4.0 Knowledge”—at its Hefei plant in 2017.
