On April 29, Tongfu Microelectronics announced that it had completed the acquisition of 85% equity stakes in both AMD Suzhou and AMD Penang, investing a total of US$371 million. This strategic partnership with AMD marks a significant milestone, positioning Tongfu Microelectronics at the forefront of world-class technology in advanced processor chip packaging and testing.
Malaysian Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng of Penang, Malaysia's Second Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato' Sri Huang Jiaquan, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su, and AMD General Manager for Penang, Liang Sunyi, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
